APPLYING “THE MACHINE”
The “Machine” IS THE SUCCESS PATH for this course. I created it for writing students to understand a pretty much failsafe path to becoming a published writer. It originated in my own wish, forty years ago, to push away despair and discouragement, knowing that it would require many, many “failures” before I ever reache…[Read more]

I suspect that a liberal mindset is a bit more likely to result from/go through the processes that lead to that mindset, but not by much. I can say that one who sees things dualistically is less likely to fall into the NEGATIVE aspects of the conservative mindset, but possibly be more likely to fall into the negative aspects of the Left-leaning…[Read more]

So here is a thought for discussion:
Does Conservative or Liberal attitudes impact the likelihood of a person getting to Intermittent Non-Dualistic Awareness?

Where (if any) would be the appropriate place to post a piece of fan-fiction I’ve written for consideration re: hot-seat discussion?

So here’s my new voice: “You’ve lost it.” That’s the voice you have to look forward to, if you’re a beginner. The voice changes, it doesn’t go away. Sometimes that voice moves me to action, sometimes it paralyzes me. So I try to rely on other methods to motivate myself (including the To-Do List hubby has been pushing for years). If you use Google…[Read more]

Actually, that doubt never fully leaves. It cycles around over and over, but we gain greater awareness that it is just part of the process.

I know a man named Tim Piering who exemplified as close to “every” principle in that book as I can think off the top of my head. Very successful, healthy, accomplished man on every level. I honestly don’t know ANYONE who is successful who didn’t exemplify about 1/3 of the principles at the least.
A man like Benjamin Franklin covered a lot of…[Read more]

So I finished the book and before I talk about my reactions to it I got to ask you some questions, Steve.
1. Who was the person(s) you have met that exemplifies the most steps and how many did that/those person(s) possess?
2. Who are the people in history you think exemplify all thirteen steps? And have you met any?

We’d love that. The plan is to build this group up, and then have live meetings and workshops.

Great! And I can’t wait to see what films your produce in the wake of these times. I think I will repurpose that post for my blog.

I love journaling. It has been my saving grace through so many tough times in my life. It became a little more sporadic when I became a mother but I love it nonetheless. It is good to have this outlet as we work through all of the feelings we have regarding this election. I appreciate you encouraging us to get back to it if we have been away from…[Read more]

As the numbness is wearing off after Tuesday, I’m glad I’d rediscovered my journal in the days before election night so we wouldn’t be complete strangers when I needed to move beyond social media and try to unpack my feelings.
Sometimes journaling is nothing more than a list of events. After the election, I spoke to my 82-year-old father, a…[Read more]

There is a wonderful clarity in finding a leverage point in your life. “If I do this one thing, every day, I will express my life’s purpose.” of “If I do this one thing, every day, I will reach my major goal in three years”. I now know what, IF MY MAP IS ACCURATE, I need to do every day to reach my major life goal in three years. Can I do it? I…[Read more]

We’ll be bringing more people in soon, but part of the quiet is simply that we missed a couple of weeks of classes. Feeling like a divine conduit doesn’t have to swell the ego. If you are half-way between an ant and a star, superior or inferior to neither, it is a sense that uplifts without feeling you are higher or lower than anyone else. A…[Read more]
