Well, I’ve got the ghosts of a 96 year old woman and her husband pitted against the guy who’s trying to “improve” and flip the beloved Craftsman bungalow she lived in most of her life here in “Little Louisiana.” Narrator is her 70-year-old adopted “nephew” who works as a local handyman.
I have to say that the challenge to write about what’s happeneing locally that we feel strangly about triggered a pretty strong reaction, and I’m about 3000 words into what’s looking as if it will end up as a 7–10K ghost story about gentrification and how it affects established communities.
